Men's Hike to Mt. Cammerer
Gentlemen, join us Jim Wilkin leads us on an 11.1 mile roundtrip hike to Mt. Cammerer in the beautiful Smoky Mountain National Park. We will journey through mature hardwood forests, experience beautiful views of Cosby and Toms Creek valleys, and see the Mt. Cammerer fire lookout. The lookout was built by local laborers and the Civilian Conservation Corp in the late 1930s using hand-cut stone from a quarry just downhill from the tower.
This trail is rated as "strenuous". Portions of the trail are steep and rugged. Hikers should bring the following:
*Clothing appropriate for the weather
*Extra pair of socks
*Sunscreen and bug spray
The bus will depart the church at 8:00am and return around 5:00pm. Please bring $4 to help offset the cost of gas.
