Cataloochee Elk Viewing Trip
Join us as we head to Cataloochee to spend the afternoon enjoying some of God's beautiful creation. It was in Cataloochee that elk were re-introduced into the park in 2001 and 2002. The animals are not frightened by humans and can be observed grazing in Cataloochee's fields. The elk typically retreat into the woods during the day and emerge into the fields late afternoon - early evening. The rut occurs September - October, during the rut the bull elk bugles to attract cows and to challenge other bulls.
The buses will depart the church at 2:00pm.
